Hi~大家好!

51. Many good suggestions were not fully understood when they were first brought up.
Many good suggestions were not fully(完全地) understood / when they were first brought up(提出).
were not fully understood,“不被完全理解”=“未能被充分理解”,不是“完全不被理解”,排除A。
were first brought up,“初次提出”,“刚开始提出”,“第一次提出”都可以。
52.Well, a couple of years later, they became enemies. But we are getting ahead of the story.
Well, a couple of years later(几年后), they became enemies(敌人). But we are getting ahead of(领先) the story.
53. You should check every item before you pay for the goods. You can't be too careful.
You should check(检查) every item(条目) before you pay for the goods(货物). You can't be too careful.
pay for 是付款,排除A。
can not或can never 与too 连用表示“越...
54. There is so much happening this morning; I don't know whether I'm coming or going.
There is so much(太多) happening this morning; I don't know whether(是否) I'm coming or going.
55. Human beings are interesting in that they tend to first see good in a new acquaintance.
Human beings(人类) are interesting / in that they tend to(倾向于) first see good in a new acquaintance(熟人).
只有be interested in(对……
a new acquaintance “一个新认识的人,初识的朋友”,tend to表示一种倾向,可译为“往往”,tend to first see good in a new acquaintance,即“在刚认识一个人时,往往会先看优点。”
Everybody knows that people all wear masks(戴口罩) during the COVID-19 pandemic(流行病) .
But we also have to throw(扔) the masks away / after they are used.
This could become a serious environmental problem, scientists have warned(警告).
Researchers(研究者) in the US and some European countries did a study(做研究).
They estimated(估计) that people around the world are now using 129 billion(十亿)face masks every month.
That is to say(也就是说) we use 2.8 million(百万) masks every minute!
